Spinola Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Spinola has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics. There is no service of ours for your data to go to, and we never receive it.
What stays on your device
Your profile, which is a first name and which “world” you know, and any pass-and-play matches are stored in the app on your device. Clear them any time with “Start over” on the home screen, or by deleting the app.
What online play sends, and who sees it
This section is about the iPhone and iPad app. The Android app plays on one phone only, so it never sends a match anywhere; everything below about Game Center does not apply to it.
Playing from two phones uses Apple’s Game Center. To carry a match between phones, Spinola puts the match itself into Game Center. That match contains:
- the first names entered on both sides, including a partner’s name if you typed one for couples play
- the identifier Game Center gives each player, which is how the match knows whose turn it is
- which world each person answers
- the decks chosen each round
- each answer given, the scores, and how long each answer took
Apple stores that match and shows it to the other side, and to their partner in couples play. Apple holds it under Apple’s Game Center privacy policy.
Removing a match. Once a match has finished, Spinola shows a delete button beside it; Game Center also lets you remove matches from its own screens. Either way this removes your copy only. The other player keeps theirs, and their copy still contains the names and answers from the match. There is no way for Spinola, or for you, to delete their copy. “Start over” inside Spinola is separate again: it clears what is on your device and touches nothing held by Game Center.
If you would rather not share a real name, use a nickname. Nothing else is asked for: no email, no password, no contacts, no location, and no device permissions.
Nothing else leaves the device
Spinola makes no network requests other than Game Center’s on iPhone and iPad, and none at all on Android (the Android app does not even ask for the internet permission). There are no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no tracking of any kind.
Children
Spinola is made for adults playing together. It collects nothing from anyone, children included.
